STITCH TOGETHER
Galerie P+EN in Endoji, Nagoya, Japan
MARCH - MAY 2012
As well as my solo stitch work there were 4 collaborative projects with various Japanese designers and makers and one collaboration with the general public. It was such a good experience working with such brilliant people.

ALBUM, EP AND SINGLE ARTWORK
In the past 4 years I have spent a lot of time traveling between Japan, the UK and Europe. This artwork came from old paper collected in junk shops on my travels: kakegiku (painted Japanese scrolls), book covers, and old seed packets etc., combined with my dad`s old sea charts, and my clarinet scale book from school etc. I then spent hours, often whilst traveling, adding stitches to the pieces of paper, and finally hand stitched them all together.
from it sprung a mountain - maybe the land of my travels come together? There is a poster of this inside the album |

The badges each contain original artwork along with a grid reference (29Q) and come complete with a download code for the music, animations, and an invitation to join the photo project. We`re asking people to send in a photo of the badge in a significant place/situation, so that the traveling of the 600 squares (bites of the mountain) can be traced further go here to get one and join the project Claw and Tooth single with art work and animation by Betsy Dadd a bite the mountain photo submission |

HEADS AND TAILS
Heads and Tails was an exhibition I had in Japan that later became the artwork for
The Moth in the Motor. Inspired by the array of animal characteristics and the game
consequenses where you drew a head, fold it over, pass it on, the next person draws a body,
fold it over pass it on, the next person draws the feet. I always used to play this game,
and it's also one of the ways I spent time with Ichi when we first met
and couldn't speak each other's languages.

THE CROW`S JOURNEY
This was an exhibition I had in Tokyo in 2008. I was motivated to make this particular work through my own lone journey of looking that I was doing in Japan at the time. I used stitch and lino print to create a story. Here are 6 of the 16 pictures from the story.
